Conditions Treated

  • Stroke
    Strokes have many causes and usually involve an interruption or alteration of the blood supply to some area of the brain resulting in a lack of oxygen and subsequent tissue damage. Our stroke center specializes in rapid treatment to minimize the damage.
  • Neuro-trauma
    Direct trauma to the brain requires careful and dedicated care often over a lengthy course of rehabilitation. Here at MidHudson Regional Hospital, we have a dedicated team of rehab specialists.
  • Parkinson's Disease
    A degenerative disease of the movement control area of the brain which can be efectively managed through education and consultation with our neurologists.
  • Epilepsy
    A chronic disorder characterized by brain dysfunction and usually associated with some alteration of consciousness such as seizures. Epilepsy symptoms vary from complex abnormalities of behavior including generalized or focal convulsions to momentary spells of impaired consciousness.
  • Multiple Sclerosis
    A disorder involving degeneration of the insulating tissue surrounding nerves. which presents with a wide range of symptoms and severity. 
  • Sleep Disorders
    We address altered sleep patterns which may be impaired by changes in our biology, medications, stress or other unidentified reasons. These disorders can have serious consequences to a person's health as effective sleep is necessary for continued survival.
  • Neuro-muscular, peripheral nerve injury
    Injury to neuromuscular junctions can disrupt nerve impulses to the muscles and cause symptoms ranging from paralysis to uncontrollable pain.
  • Pain
    Pain management involves complex chemical pathways in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Our neurologists can develop pain medication regimens to effectively control chronic pain.
  • Neuro-geriatric memory disorder
    Disruption in memory function due to aging can be effectivley treated by knowledgeable neurologists through careful patient work up and care.
  • Gait and balance disorder
    Problems keeping a steady balance and proper walking ability is a tell-tale sign of neurologic problems of one kind or another.
  • Cerebrovascular Disease
