Our Commitment To Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement

A message from the leadership of the WMCHealth Network and its members

news item

New York State’s Hudson Valley is a beautiful mosaic comprised of thriving communities rich in culture and diversity.  As we celebrate National Diversity Month, I wanted to reiterate Westchester Medical Center Health Network’s (WMCHealth) commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement by sharing the underlying principles that support our strategic efforts.

At WMCHealth, we believe that diversity is defined broadly and encompasses a myriad of characteristics that make each patient, each family, each member of our workforce, and each community unique.  We value our organizational diversity as an asset that makes us stronger and more responsive to the needs of those we serve.

We are committed to creating inclusive environments  where every member of the WMCHealth community is recognized, respected, actively engaged and has the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to our mission, support our vision, and advance our VITAL values.

We understand that sustaining healthy and vibrant communities can’t be achieved by us in isolation and that collaborating with local stakeholders regarding community engagement partnerships is crucial to our success.

In bringing these three principles together, WMCHealth is able to leverage the strength of its diversity to create innovative culturally competent institutions that provide superior patient-centered health care services, promote equitable and inclusive environments, support enriched work experiences, and sustain health and vitality throughout the region.

I encourage you to join us as we continue our Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement journey. A journey that supports Advancing Care. Here.

Sincerely,
