MidHudson Regional Hospital Early Education Center Named 2016 Day Care Center Of The Year by Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam, Inc.

6/2/2016

MidHudson Regional Hospital Early Education Center has been named the 2016 Day Care Center of the Year by the Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam, Inc.  The award was bestowed based on nominations from parents of day care children in the Hudson Valley, over 400 of who submitted letters and testimonials to the Child Care Council.

"We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam, Inc.," said Margaret Slomin, Director, Preschool, Day Care, and Therapies at MidHudson Regional Hospital.  "Each and every staff member is dedicated to nurturing, supporting and enriching the lives of the children in our care, and we are all so proud of this honor."

A nomination submitted by Nancy Werner, who has a daughter in the Early Education Center and another who has graduated the program, lauded the Center's "talented and reflective" teachers and creative enrichment programs including "music, stretch and grow, nutrition programs, and visits from local firefighters and Irish step dancers."  Werner also noted the Center's commitment to family with events like the "fall pot luck dinner, Valentines Day dance, and kindergarten readiness program."

With locations on MidHudson Regional Hospital's main campus and Spackenkill Road in Poughkeepsie, the Early Education Center has been empowering children to learn and grow since 1988.  Serving children from six weeks to five years old, staff members at the Early Education Center all hold degrees in early childhood education and are certified in CPR, First Aid, and trained to administer medication.  The Early Education Center is strongly rooted in the well-established principles of developmental play, a philosophy that allows children to freely engage with their environment and ensures all are exposed to a wide variety of learning opportunities and experiences.  For more information, visit MidHudsonRegional.org.
