MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), welcomes general orthopedic surgeon Michael M. Zilles, MD, to the hospital's medical staff.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Zilles performs surgery at the hospital's Orthopedic Center and at WMCHealth's Advanced Orthopaedics in Fishkill.
Dr. Zilles specializes in foot and ankle, hand, hip and knee, oncology, pediatrics, shoulder and elbow, spine, sports medicine, and trauma.
He joins a growing team of orthopedic surgeons practicing at Advanced Orthopaedics and performing surgery at MidHudson Regional Hospital, including Jeremy Mangion, MD, and Yigal Samocha, MD. The orthopedic team is committed to providing quality, compassionate care for patients and their families.
Dr. Zilles received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed an internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and a residency in orthopedic surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.
He followed his residency with a fellowship in sports medicine at Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Before joining MidHudson Regional Hospital, Dr. Zilles was an orthopedic surgeon at South Louisiana Medical Associates of Morgan City, La., and Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, W.Va. He was also for 10 years an assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C.
Dr. Zilles, who lives in Fishkill, is a former lieutenant commander with the U.S. Navy Reserve.
